How the field flux is controlled in DC drive ?..

Answer / karthik_elec

in this method which is suitable for sepr excited and
shunt, compound motors,in this type speed can regulate by
inserting a variable resistence in the field circuit. speed
is inversily proposional to the field current, in order t
reduce the field current by using the resistor(rheostat)
we can reduce the speed,in this method we can achive minute
speed control, this speed control not affected by the load
means it can be perfoemed by light loads also, disadvantage
is we control the speed very limit range only 1:4
