It explodes like a bomb, as the liquid metal drops in to the the water, water molecules splits in to Hydrogen and oxygen, the hydrogen gas at high temp combine with oxygen in air which is highly exothermic reaction and explodes like bomb

no you both are wrong .,., the answer is simple water has
BP of 100'c , now both mixes for huge temp difference like
100'c and 1300'c to 1500'c (for steel) so water directly
become water vapour in fraction of a second that look lyk
explosion.
