If stator & rotor of a 3-phase induction motor have different
no. of poles, will the motor run or not??

For any rotating machine number of stator pole should be
same as number of rotor pole . 3-phase induction is single
exication self starting motor .Thus for 3 -phase stator
winding and 3-phase supply same number of pole will induce
in stator winding and hence motor will start run .

If the no. Of rotor pole is not eqal to tha stator pole then it will not run. No. Of Stator pole and rotor pole must be same to run 3 phase induction motor

yes the statormay have many pols the rotor will have only one
pole as it act as aclose circuit
