The rbc is generated by erythropoiesis , in the early
stages of rbc it contains the nucleus and other cell
organals but when the cell is matured the nucleus and other
cell organels like mitochondria will be disapeared. This
results in the disable of rbc to replicate.Do to lack of
mitochondria the rbc donot produce any ATP.It also enables
much more oxygen transfer rate.

because for become a cell it necessary to have all sub
cellular organs. in RBCs all sub cellular organs are
present in early developmental stages.but on maturation its
lose all the sub cellular structure which are prevent to do
its job of transportation.so initially it fulfill all the
qualities which is necessary for calling a cell.

We know cells are the smallest structural and functional units of life having a mass of protoplasm and surrounded by plasma membrane.
As far as RBCs are concerned,
1)They are the most essential component of blood in the vertibrates, thus acts as a major structural unit of life.
2) They are the transporting agent in the body, circulating respiratory gases, enzymes, metabolites, hormones and other secretory and excretory substances throughout the body. Without their help, circulation would'nt have happened, following the malfunctioning of any other systems in the body.
They also help in maintaining a stable body temperature and environment.
3) As far as their structure is concerned, they do a plasma membrane bound protoplasmic mass containing Fe pigments.
They do have receptors that helps them bind with substances they transport.
Although, they are very specialized non-nucleated cells which aren't able to replicate themselves,in the first stages they also have ribosomes and mRNA and they have a metabolic activity (glycolytic activity).
So for all these reasons the RBC may well be considered as a cell even though it dont have all
the characteristic features of a complete cell.

In early stage orthochromatic erythroblast they have nucleus that is expelled when they become RED BLOOD CELL.they do not have the nucleus to limit the metabolic activity because are cell specialized in the transport of oxygen by heamoglobin. heamoglobin synthesis occur until they have the nucleus.

Becouse RBC have all cellular
organelles before maturation
therefore RBC are called cell

contain only Fe and Hg to produced blood and transport of
oxygen
