Ans: Conduction
Since, the loss of temperature from the surface to the surrounding is less as the area(surface) exposed is less. If it was in a plate it would've been convection as the area exposed in this case will definitely be large...
Ex/Expt: The Coffee cools down very rapidly when the cup is placed/surrounded by cold water.... This proves that conduction process is taking place at a higher rate than convection.
