How to calculate the cable size in sq. mm. when the load is
given in KW?

How to calculate the cable size in sq. mm. when the load is given in KW?..

Answer / joy banerjee (joysbag@gmail.co

Calculate the Load current by KW = 1.733xVxIx CosQ

Where
- V = Voltage
- I = Current
- CosQ= Power Factor

After getting the Current we can select the cable from the
cable manufacturer's chart or by selecting the current
density(D) and using the formula

Current density = I / A

where
- I = Currrent in Amps
- A = Cross section area in sqmm
