what is the difference between M.C and LOD..

Answer / alpesh patel

M.C. result gives only water content present in substance
while LOD result gives water content+solvent present in
substance. Thus, LOD content is always hIgher than M.C.

what is the difference between M.C and LOD..

Answer / i.kizar ahamed

MC gives only % of water in a substance(Low melting range
substance). But LOD result is a combination of water
content and other volatile organic solvents. And more over
Melting range of a substance has to be considered in case
of LOD. Substances whichever is having high melting point
is required for LOD checking.

what is the difference between M.C and LOD..

Answer / amit patel

M.C =moisture content= the molecular water stored in the
molecule/it gives the exact water centent.(generally tested
by the KF titrator)

whereas

LOD=Loss on drying= unbound water + organic volatile
impurities.(in vacuum oven)

Answer / swarupa kumar behera

M/c (moisture content) - It determine that how many quantity of water present in supplied sample. It generally check by Karlfisher.
LOD ( lose on Drying)- determine both water and non-volatile substance in supplied sample. It done in oven at 110'C for 1hr.
