rolling is the movement of ship about its longitudinal axis.
pitching is the movement of ship abt its transverse axis.

ship is more stable about its tranverse axis.

rolling is angular movement about the direction of motion
of an object
pitching is angular movement about a horizontal axis which
is perpendicular to direction of motion of object.
and angular movement about a vertical axis perpendicular to
the direction of motion of object is called yaw
