The cable is depend upon the connected load and type of
conductor. there is no thumb rule of choosing conductor size.
1 sq mm cu carries 11A current. whereas Al cond. 1 sqmm
carries only 3 amp current. this can only be choose from
companies catalogoues.

Sir, it is simple 10kw motor will take 14 amp current in
normal running of motor but at starting shall take about 5-7
times more in case of induction motor. so we will consider
the cable accordingly

now most of the HT and EHV cables are with XLPE insulation.
earlier, in mid 70's HT cable are insulated with PILC(paper
insulated and lead covered. OIL is filled to reduce moisture
in paper. disd of PILC cables is very heavy almost double
the weight of XLPE cable but adv is the chance of voids are
very less in PILC cable. Lead is not ECO-friendly,it is
almost banned in europe, US and few countries in ASIA. Cost
is very High as compare to XLPE cable. whereas XLPE cable
are lighter in weight.Long life,easy to handle. jointing is
less costly.

Parallel or Series connection, all depends upon the
requirement. In Homes, parallel connection is preferred
because the apparatus used in home is of same voltage level

marked 220v Rating. whereas series connection is used where
Low voltage devices are connected to sum up to connected to
equal supply voltage.
Both are equally safe and harmful.

Multi-strand conductor is stranded conductor. i.e solid area
is divided into no. of small area's( 1 sqmm wire is having
14 strands of 0.3 mm dia. which gives equivalent area for 1
sqmm solid conductor). By stranding the conductor, total
circumference will increase as compare to single solid
strand. further, 0.45mm should be dia of single strand and
370 would be the no's of strand in the cable.
