Hi, I have both B1 and L1 valid visas.I will be travelling
to USA next week on Business trip for a duration of 5 weeks
on B1 Visa.
Q1.Will there be any problem to my L1 visa as I am holding
it now and travelling on B1 visa?
Q2.Will there be any problem in future if I go on long term
on L1 visa?
Please clarify my doubts.

i faced the same sitution but at port of entry when i said i am coming on B1 for business meetings for 4 weeks .the officer said even if u are coming here for one day after holding L1 ,you will treat as under L1 entry i argued with them but still they did not allow on my b1 and they allowed in to the country on L1 and given I 94 3 yrs based on L1 visa.. what happened to your situation. I am not sure how and what to do now. because i need to goback to my home country and will come after some time on long term

Hi Krishna, Dont worry - you can travel to US on your B1,
at Immigration you must mention that you are entering US on
B1. There will not be any problem to your L1.

I have face the same issue, got stamping on my L1 visa instead of B1.
This is a real trouble as i have to leave by 1st Feb. As my visa is expiring. Do you guys check is there a way to change your visa or extend your INS. please do reply fast i need your help.

As far as am aware there is no precedence as such mentioned in this post. However I'm not sure about this as I'm about to face the same scenario. Please let me know on this further. Will the I94 be on B1/B2 or L1?

I have a valid H4 visa which I got last month. But now, I have got an onsite oppurtunity in my current project and my company would initiate L1B individual VISA for me. Will my H4 visa affect my L1B??

My Wife is working as Software engineer in one of the leading IT company , she already have approved L1 VISA , her company did not make use of it , we were trying to transfer her to USA directly through her company it does not seem to work , still not confirmed , now i am planning to bring my wife as depenedent(H4) to me , as i am in USA with H1 VISA , we have confusion , my wife not willing to resign until H4 is stamped , my doubt here is ,1. will a company allow to me apply for dependent VISA when she is working in a company ? 2. If they allow to process , if in case H4 is stamped ,she did not resign from job , if her company agrees to send her to USA using the same old company;s L1 , is it valid after getting H4 stamped ?

My surname is being mispelt in the degree certificate instead of AIYAR it has been mentioned as IYER. Other documents have the name as AIYAR and as per passport also it is AIYAR. Will this create a problem for my L1 visa. I am a Chartered Accountant and name in my CA certificate is AIYAR.
