Hey. in manual testing u need to check the output manually
instate of automation. For manual testing you may use excel
which contains no. of fields or columns i.e. Expected
result, actual result.Here you may find out actual result
from the actual execution of s/w.
Quality Center(QC) is a tool used for manual testing.

We have to go through each test case given for us in our module or project.
For example if we need to check the login window and password you have to give different( sets of input)user names and passwords according to our test cases and check whether the edit box is taking proper input or not.This is small example but you have to execute many test cases to check the functionality.
Generally the test cases will be stored in Quality center. but in some cases like In my project we use visual source safe to store all our documents.

In manual Testing we are provided with the Excel sheet that
contains Test cases. We need to read each Test case very
carefully and follow each step described in it. We need to
see whether the result is as prescribed or not, only then
we can pass or fail the test case.. There are different
levels of Test cases defined in Excel sheet like Sanity
Full and Low(not sure ).. These levels are determined on
the basis of how important is the test case regarding the
flow of the product..... When the Test case performs as
prescribed then only we can pass or fail the test case.. We
can add comments also if we need to give soe addtional
information regarding a particular test case--
