What is the function of cellmembrane in the movement of of substances in and out of the cell?..

Answer / madhuraka

the cell membrane is a lipid bilayer with a number of proteins spanning the membrane. these proteins form different channels and pores which allow selective passage of molecules through them, eg. ionic channels help in transport of ions. and non polar, lipid soluble molecules can cross the lipid bilayer easily. thus the cell membrane allows selective passage of substances through it.
