Quality Center is one Test Management Tool. By using this
tool, test cases can be designed, executed and defect can be
reported.

WOW a simple question and the message board police come out
and make the intial guy asking the question look stupid.
If you know the answer, then answer, if you dont know they
answer keep your judgements to yourself.
In terms of QC and Defect Tracking Systems..
Defect Tracking systems specialize in communicating info
related to software issues (bugs, features, etc) and
tracking the work done on these as they are related to
software releases.
QC or Quality Center is more of a Application Test
management tool that allows for entering requirements,
creating test cases and associating with requirements,
entering defects, testing items, reporting on testing
metrics.
QC is not a very effective Defect Tracking tool. Most
defect tracking tools track more that defects. They are
commonly referred to a issue tracking tools.

QC can mean Quality center and also Quality Control.
Although it is clear that you were talking about quality
Center, being clear while asking the question helps us
guess at which level we should answer the question.
Poornachandra - Yes. Requirements can be handled using Test
director as well.

This is chandana i am very clear about my question,this is
the one interview question what i faced, even two of them
gave answers with out any confustion, i think u have to
think about u r knowledge.If u know the ans post it other

Hi All (who thinks the question is not clear):)
I dont find anything wrong in the question asked by
Mr. Chandana. This is a very simple and frequently asked
question in the interview as he already mentioned and
needless to say these questions are asked this way only in
interview. We need to understand the question asked by the
interviwee. QC means Quality center and Quality Control
both but here, in this case it has to be Quality Center so
there is no point in fighting and confusion.

defect tracking means all defects are tracking at defects status only but not project status. QC developes from 8.2v and it comes from the test director.it tracks the defects at project level also

If I have written the test cases for Login window . If one new field is added to login window then steps of test case changed in the next build. my question is that should I make change in the steps of previous test case or write another test case with new steps?
