Explain the mechanism of stomata ?..

Answer / swapna

stomata plays an important role in transpiration.

Stomata are having two guard cells and subscidiary cells.
when the humidity is more then guard cells become turgid and
stomata becomes open thus increasing transpirational rate.

when humidity is less guard cells become flaccid and closes
the stomatal pore there by decreasing the transpirational rate.

Explain the mechanism of stomata ?..

Answer / maris

Stomata are pores in the epidermis of leaves through which
gaseous exchange takes place. Each stoma is surrounded by a
guard cell, the guard cell controls the size of the stoma by
changes in their turgidity and flaccidity. in warm
temperatures the rate of transpiration(water loss)is high.
Therefore the plants become flaccid, the guard cell sag,
inner cell walls come closer and the stoma close.
in cool temperatures, water from the surroundings enter the
cell of plants by osmosis. The cell of the plant becomes
turgid, the guard cell expands, inner cells become tough and
stoma opens.
