Which colors of lights work best for growing plants?

Which colors of lights work best for growing plants?..

Answer / anithaisro

Plants get the largest amount and most efficiently
metabolized nutrient energy from the red-hued portions of
the light spectrum

Blue light is the second most important light hue in the
spectrum for plant growth and performance. Blue light
encourages the leaf bulking that makes for healthy-looking
plants and will aid in budding and blooming performance.
Blue light is also used in supporting underwater aquarium
plants and animals, as it mimics their natural light
conditions in bodies of water.

The other required spectrum hues largely depend on the
needs of the specific plant species. White light, which is
an amalgam of all colors in the spectrum, can be added to
the red, blue and other colored light sources to round out
the light available to your plants.
