Hello ganga, PLz dnt mind but adhoc testing and smoke
testing are not the same.Smoke testing is being done prior
to telease the build to check whether the software is ready
for the further testing or not.
And Adhoc testing is the subset of monkey testing where no
test cases are being defined,it is being done due to the
lack of time.
Plz correct me if i m wrong.....

if time is less to test more than 1000 test cases then we
have to go for adhoc testing, test weather client
requirements mapping with test cases there we can used RTM
method.

Generally testers will go farmal testing but due to lack of
time they conduct an informal testing on Main
functionalities called Adhoc testing
