Define telome theory?

Define telome theory?..

Answer / Oliver Masih

The Telomere Theory is a biological concept that explains the mechanism by which chromosomes maintain their integrity during cell division. In eukaryotic cells, each chromosome has a protective cap called a telomere made of repeated DNA sequences. During normal cell division (mitosis), some DNA at the ends of the chromosomes is lost, and without telomeres, the chromosomes would lose their stability and integrity over time. The Telomere Theory suggests that these repeating sequences at the ends of chromosomes prevent this loss of genetic information.
