ntfs-allows access to w2k,w2k3,wxp.And alows parttion upto
2 terabytes and above.file and folder to change is possible
in only in ntfs.

fat-allows access to win95,98.And allows partition upto 2
terabyte.file and folder to change is not possible.

FAT and FAT32 was the old File system which support windows
95,98 and of course new OS till windows xp pro.. but after
the windows NT you can change your file system to NTFS. for
for security.. but vista doesn't support FAT file
system..... FAT upto 2GB, FAT32 support maximum drive of 34
GB, NTFS upto 2TB,

the difference is . in this fat has more slack area. and
ntfs is no more slack areas. and the fat provides folder
security and ntfs folders and files
