roht was 4 times as old as his son 8 years ago. after 8 years , rohit will be twicw as old as his ..

Answer / dillip kumar dash

let's assume that rohit's present age is x and his son's
present age is y. 2 equations formed using these.
x-8 = 4(y-8) -> represtning 8 ago from present time.
x+8 = 2(y+8) -> representing 8 yrs ahead from now.
subtract 2nd equation from 1st. the resulting equation w'd
be: 2y-48=-16
y=16
x=2y+8
=40
hence Rhit's present age is 40, his son's present age is 16
yrs.

Answer / vignesh1988i

let us assume the present ages be x (rohit) & y (son).

given that , (x-8)=4(y-8)
solving this we will get : x-4y=-24 ------> 1
given that , (x+8)=2(y+8)
solving that we will get : x-2y=8 ------> 2
solving 1&2 we will get :

x=40 & y=16.....

thank u
