Plant cell vacuoles are membrane-bound organelles found in mature plant cells. They store and maintain water, nutrients, waste products, and pigments such as chlorophyll and anthocyanin. The main function of vacuoles is to provide turgor pressure that helps in maintaining the plant's structure. The covering membrane of the vacuole is called tonoplast.
