Why these stars are called novae?
Answer / Mohd. Zeeshan
Novae are called such because they 'now' appear (from the Latin word for 'new') when they undergo a sudden brightening in luminosity. This occurs due to a thermonuclear explosion on the surface of a white dwarf star in a binary star system.
