How did the moon form?
Answer / Gaurav Singh Rathour
The Moon likely formed about 4.5 billion years ago, approximately 2 hours after the formation of Earth, due to a giant impact event. This hypothesis is known as the Giant Impact Theory. During this event, a Mars-sized body called Theia collided with the early Earth, causing debris to coalesce and form the Moon.
