it means those expenditure which are incurred for purchasing an asset including those charges which are incured while purchasing such asset but not as important as the purchase of that asset for eg:- installation charges..the main reason of such expenditure is that this expenditure increases the revenue earning capacity of business..this expenditure is debited in the asset account.
