Adhoc testing is done by experienced or who is having
complete knowledge of the application where as the monkey
testing is done by people who doesn't any knowledge of the
application or atlest the test engineer should should

Which is also called as adhoc/gorilla testing. As name it self specifies, dont have knowledge. Here u r nowhere concerned about requirement or your test cases. U test in your own possible ways and not exactly end to end. 1 simple ex is 1) when u log out, just click on back button and check whether it goes to previous page, if yes then bug. Similarley 2) u just copy the Url when u r in say inbox page, log out and paste this url and go,if yes bug. Like this u come with your own creative scenario.

hi Venku,

Monkey testing is not adhoc testing..
Adhoc testing means without following any formal testcases
tester will test the application. but tester should know
the full functionality/flow of the
application.
