recording scripts also so what should i do

Pls confirm whether you have choosen the correct add-in
before using Obj Spy. Here the add-in should be Web

please check out it may be this case:
first thing is you opened your browser before opening the
QTP.in this case QTP cannot identify it as web instead it
identifies it as window and you cannot do any recording
