What is peak purity and response factor in chromatographic analysis? Why we required to find out res..

Answer / venkata naveen talluri

Peak purity=It indicates whether the peak is single or co-eluting with any other analyte. If peak purity is passing it indicates it is single peak. based on the Noise and co-eluting peaks the peak purity depends.

Response factor/Relative response factor/RRF=the response of an impurity withrespect to main peak at a particular nanometer. All impurities will not have equal responses with API. RRF needs to be established because impurities are very costly and each time of analysis it is difficult to be used. So establish an RRF and use the RRF for calculation in repoting the impurity value
