what is difference between GC & GC-HS..

Answer / mr.bujji reddy kanchi

GC-HS is useful for Residual solvents. since the sample is
heated about 40 minutes. then the volatiles present in the
sample will come to the empty space(Head space)of the vial.
then the needle will suck the vapour and inject into GC. It
means we are extracting the volatiles from the material
before injection.

In case of GC- Direct injection, sample also will go into
GC.

what is difference between GC & GC-HS..

Answer / ravi.a

gc and gc-hs both are used for residual solvents in by gc
we measured for volatile solvents in this direct inject the
sample into the column and in gc-hs is also used for
volatile sovents in this we apply the pressure to inject
the solvent as vapour into the column
and both r used for non volatile solvents there are
converted into voltile solvents

what is difference between GC & GC-HS..

Answer / vishnu dutt pandey, lupin limit

1.In GC Liquid Injection made. While in GC-HS vapours of
volatile solvents injected.
2.In GC we analysed only residual solvents of those
substances which is in liquid state.
3.Through GC-HS we analysed residual solvents of those
substances which is in Solid [api, Tablet] & liquid both
state state.Because when we crush the solid for made
solution in diluent for liquid injection there is some
temperature genarate, the low boiler is vaporised & we can't
get accurate result of the material.

what is difference between GC & GC-HS..

Answer / gaurav khurana

Gc and gchs both are used for residual solvent but difference between gc sample completely dissolve in base solvent(dmso, dmf, nmp) and clearly soluble. But gchs samples not necessary dissolve in base solvent but we check residual solvent in substance. Because gchs in headspace only vapour transfer in gc .Sample is not direct impact in injector port. But direct sample inject in injector port in gc .These is damage injector port of gc.

GC ALS AND GC HS Difference injection technique,
GC ALS Inject the liquid and small volume (like 0.2,0.5 or 10ul)
GC HS inject the vapour directly large volume (1ml)
ALS solid must be dissolve solvents but HS Use diluent water also.
ALS Inject solvent including product but HS Inject only vapour stage of solvent.

Hello Dear all; I have a technical question related to analytical Chemistry, I have a sample of (40% w/w) Ferric Chloride solution (for water treatment purposes which consist a little portions of Ferrous Chloride and Hydrochloric acid. I need to know the methods to determine the percentages of each Ferrous Chloride and Chloride acid. Also I want to make sure that this solution is truly (40% w/w). So ANY CLUE !!! Thanks in advance.
