Question { 11123 }

why we are doing post tensioning in beams and slabs.
it is economical compare to rcc? how?

Answer

Post tensioning in RCC is done to achieve more space by
reducing beam depths and increasing column spacing. this
helps in creating a hall or a large space workshop etc
without any column in between.

P.T. is no where cheaper than RCC rather P.T. is a costlier
way of construction but still it is preferred to achieve
more space or else increasing the span (as if in Bridges).

Question { Reliance, 23549 }

Cost control in civil construction as well as Quality control

Answer

If one can provide a control on Quality, Cost and Time all
at a time then the cost can be perfectly optimised.

For the above said minimum wastage and timely completion of
work must be assured.

This can help in cost control as it can help us reduce
inventory cost.

Also labour time wastage can be reduced if all work is done
with a planned schedule. whichin turn affects the cost.

Lean production is the best method i consider to optimise
the cost.
