Question { Mphasis, 14436 }

plz tell me the V model with complete explanation(not
definition)

Answer

V - model :verification and Validation model.
It is the best model than the all other old development
and testing models.
Actually V-model is highly improved model for fast
application or product development.

V-model looks like

BRS Acceptence Testing
\ /
SRS system testing
\ /
HLD system integration testing
\ / STLC
SDLC LLD Component Integration Testing
\ /
Coding Unit testing
\ /
Testing

V-model spilts the testing into two parts design and
development.

Test design is done in early and test execution done at
end of testing

This enables the testing team to review and improve the
test cases.
verification and validation processes will be done
parallely.
In old conventional waterfall model testing is end cycle
activity.

Right side part majorly involes in Software development
and Left side part majorly involves in Software Test life
cycle.

And also one more important thing is right side half of the
V-model resembles like waterfall model.

As every body knows that waterfall model has no back
tracking to correct the defect occured in the previous
phase of the development. The defect resolving task will be
postponed to next release.

Question { Logica CMG, 6475 }

what is reqirements testing and risk based testing?

Answer

At test case execution level

1.The test cases are prioritised according to thier
importance.
2.High priority test cases will be executed first

4.Finally low priority testcases will be executed
here high priority will be given to
Fuctional requirements testcases
Medium priority will be given to
Non functional requirements test cases
Low prioity will be given to
User interface requirements test cases
At project planning level
Risk Based Testing means hwo adpatively testing process will
be changed to over come the risk.

Common risks are
1.Lack knowledge on domain for testing engineer
2.Lack of resource
3.lack of Budget
4.lack of development process rigor
5.Delay in modified build delivery
6.Lack of communication among

Question { 4260 }

Developres release the build with known bugs , then how
will u(as a tester) write defect reports without
developer known bugs .

Answer

This is a foolish question
tesres only report the defects to developpers.
Depending on the severity and priority ,if they have time
to resolve they will do it,otherwise they will put then in
release notes as known issues.
That means they will correct in the next version of the
s/w release.

Question { HCL, 71881 }

what is about back end testing?

Answer

Back end Testing means DataBase Testing.
Normally a software product/application uses GUI front end
for easyuser interaction.
The Data entered in the front end will be stored in the
back end database.
The data base may be oracle,MSSQL Server,MySQL,DB2...etc
The data will be organied in the tables as record.
Major aim of using database is to support the content of
the page.
so it is critical and very important to check back end
or database.
Back end Testing means ensuring that,
If you eneter data in the front end ,the data should
be stored properly in the back end.
If you call that stored record fron front end it should
display porperly.
I think you have cleared with this ..

still if you have doubt mail me i can send you some more
material for you.

Question { DELL, 15023 }

Hello, I am interested to make a career in software
testing. I am searching for a recommended book in Automated
Testing tools which covers winrunner, loadrunner, qtp and
test director....Please advise recommended books which is a
good text book for learning software testing.

Answer

Hai Friend
I am Rajendra,
As you are very beginner for software testing
first you should have a strong knowledge in manual
software testing concepts and methodolies.

Once if you get some command on manual then try the
automation tools.

Be rememeber always one thing-
"Automation is part but Manual is HEART!"
Without having sufficient foundation on Manual testing
learning automation tools is mere waste.

If you already knew Manual testing
then i suggest you the book titled

1. "Software Testing Tools"
By Dr.K.V.K.K Prasad
Dreamtech Press
Cover price Rs:279/-(with CD)

2. "Software Testing
Principles and Practices"
By Srinivas desikan,
Gopalaswamy Ramesh
Pearson education
cost around Rs:200/-
This book is best for understanding Manual
testing process and concepts

and black box testing?

Answer

Friends,we can use automated tools in both
whitebox testing abd black box testing.White Box testing
tools are called source code testing tools.

But major difference lies between
White Box Testing and
Black Box Testing.

Here
The White Box testing means Testing the software with
knowledge of coding or programming.here in this we can
detect and correct the defect.

The Black Box testing means Testing the software with
out knowledge of coding or programming. In this tester will
find the defect based on beheviour of the software.and the
tester will report the defect to concerned developer to fix
