What is BMP in IMS?

Answer / dhs
BMP - Batch Message Processing. It is a batch interface to
a IMS Ctl region. It allows the batch program to run
concurrently with a Ctl region since the data base
allocation is done by the Ctl region. Since it has its own
JCL associated with it, it can also allocate other files -
but unless they are controlled by IMS (GSAM), those files
could cause problems in the event of backout and recovery.
