Guys ...i am worrking in TCS ...this year my confirmation
is delayed. I worked hard ..but i didn't get any
recognization ..in that scenario i am looking forward for
NIC...what you people suggest me ... there is no job
fear ..but they haven't hiked my salary yet ....they are
saying they will hike my salary next month ...in that case
what you people suggest me should i join NIC or should
continue with TCS...

Hi Shailesh,
I am also in a similar kind of situation.But what i think
is its better to join NIC rather then to stay at these
private organisation which will never gurantee you ur job
though you work hard. I had seen many of friends getting
fired in the past 6 or 7 months.....what is there in
serving the English people and getting sacked when there is
some prob.....let us serve our country, our government, our
people :)...........

Nice to hear your thoughts...By the way where you are
working ..? I am not looking forward for NIC ....but if i
will get my joining in Metro cities...then only i can think
about NIC ....Otherwise it's better to struggle in TCS
Bombay ...It is said that .....if you strugle might be you
will loose somthing initially ..but later you will gain
more ...

Well said brother....lets w8 for the offer....then lets
decide about that..but what i can read from ur mind is that
u r more inclined towards TCS rather.I will just suggest to
think once as NIC is a government job.
The factors which i am looking at are "what,where and when".
Once the offer is made all the questions will be answered
and then we can take a decision rite...meanwhile lets
enquire abt NIC and post any positive or negative points we
get.
By the way am also working in a private organisation(one of
the top 5 companies in INDIA) which i am not supposed to
reveal as per the project terms and conditions.....:)....

What you think ..if we Join NIC it would better or continue
with the current job....what is the scene of five years
job.....any idea ?always welcome nice suggestion ......

Thats rite...what i had observed working as a developer in
this company is that they will suck your blood slowly
without giving you any hikes and then later they will fire
you irrespective of your contribution towards the
company.But at the same time we can't settle for a package
less than the one which we get today....so i suggest lets
w8 for a while....let the offer be made by NIC and then we
can decide....in that way we are always safe.....i had not
submitted my resignation yet...but i did informed my
reporting manager that i may leave.....this in turn made my
RM to discuss about my pay package with the other
officials....now i have the coin in my hands ....if its
heads then i will win....if its tails then i dont lose
anything....
So i will suggest the same to you....if u have any other
good plans/ideas...please post it...it might be usefull to
me also...wat say ??

Regarding the question posted by shailesh above....can
anybody working in NIC or who have someone known in NIC
suggest wat is the work environment in NIC and wat about
the 5 yrs term...i mean will it continue after that or
else.....what abt pay hikes...and many other questions are
there....

It was written in the advt. "THESE POSTS ARE FOR THE
DURATION OF FIVE YEARS. AFTER COMPLETION OF FIVE
YEARS, THE PERSONNEL POSTED AGAINST THESE POSTS ARE LIKELY
TO BE CONTINUED IN NIC."
Can any one tell me what this means? I mean whether it is
written like that as just a convention or it is a 50/50
chance?
