i am working in a govt org as a scientist in he areas of
s/w engineering and i have got my i-20 and wish to for a F1
visa for doing my MS. i have a good academic background and
good scores as well. will working in a govt org as a
scientist go against me in the visa. should i carry some
extra docs ...

Your visa won't be rejected sir. They might give you a 221G
and ask you to wait while they get clearance for your case
from Washington D.C. This will happen if you have worked
with defense establishments like DRDO, ISRO etc. Sometimes
they give you an additional questionnaire if they think you
are a doubtful case but don't worry. If other things are in
place, your visa will surely be issued.

Hi i was rejected for F-1 visa at Chennai consulate on 9th of July 2008, i hope, i was rejected in the case of my backlogs, they are 13, and now am planning to take the visa interview again, so what would be my answer if they ask me " why u have been rejected for the first time "? and " Why these many backlogs" ? I’m waiting for my final SEM result for BE in Information Technology. I’m intending to carry on with my studies in master in CSE or IT in United States. I’ve two years of backlog one in first year of Diploma and second in First year (SECOND YEAR OF ENGG. Since diploma) of engineering. After diploma I was in some other university, but since I got a year drop I changed my university since I was finding it difficult to get adjusted and hence changed my university. Now, I’m about to complete my graduation but have a very low aggregate percentage with couple of DEAD ATKT. Now, will this affect my chances of getting admission in top 20 or 30 university of US even after passing GRE and TOFEL with high numbers or Even if I get admission will I be rejected in VISA interview or getting a job experience of 2 years along with couple of certifications, help me in any form which will increase my chances of getting admissions and also clearing VISA interview.
