As a tester what type of document req. on tester's banch to design the test cases and for exe..

Answer / saritha

As a tester we can have SRS, Usecases or any requirement
where the functionality is clearly explained.
Testcases are written in the spreadsheet where there should
columns like Expected Results, Actual Results are updated
as and when the testcase is executed and a ststus column
which speaks about Pass or Fail (this should be for each
step), there and we can share these spreadsheet with
developers or any person(s) located on onsite, we need to
have one common repository (like Lotus Notes, Bugzilla,
etc.,) which can be accessed by both of them. We can
maintain spread sheet for Defect Log also and the process
is we need to update regularly with out any ambiguity.
Coming Testing Cycle....... This won't change at all.
Normal procedure is followed.

Answer / varsha

For writing test cases tester should have SRS ,Design
specification ,FSD (Function specification
document)etc.Tester can use spread sheet for writing test
cases though for reporting bugs (communicating bugs to
developer) bug tracking system should be used .Many open
source bug tracking systems are available on web like
bugzilla, bugbase, bug tracker etc hence even small companies
can use those tools.Bug life cycle is followed while actual
testing.Bug life cycle is mentioned many times in this forum
do refer that.
