Acoelomate organisms typically reproduce asexually through fission, where they split into two identical halves to produce new individuals. Some species can also reproduce sexually by exchanging genetic material during conjugation or through the release of gametes. Reproduction in Acoels can occur either through budding, where small offspring develop on the parent organism and eventually separate, or through fragmentation, where the adult breaks into smaller pieces that regenerate into new individuals.
