Describe the digestive system of Acoelomates and how it functions without a coelom.
Answer / Khevendra Singh
The digestive system of Acoelomates is relatively simple compared to animals with a coelom. It consists of a mouth, esophagus, gut, and anus. The gut is often divided into several regions: the pharynx (which serves as both a mouth and anus), stomodeum (foregut), mesogut (midgut), and protonephridia (excretory organs). Digestion occurs through enzymes secreted by the gut lining. The undigested material is excreted through the prostonephridia.
