The total expense of a boarding house are partly fixed and partly variable with the number of boar..

Answer / sabarish

let x be fixed charge and y be the variable charge

x+25y = 25*70 = 1750 ---------- 1.
x+50y = 50*60 = 3000 ------------2.

solving (1) & (2).

x=500 and y = 50

let a be charge per head for 100 boarders

500 + 50 * 100 = 100 * a

solving we get a = 55 .
