In a certain college, 20% of the boys and 40% of the girls attended the annual college outing. If 35% of all the students are boys, what percent of all the employees went to the outing?
Answer / Isha Vishnoi
Let B be the number of boy students, G be the number of girl students, E be the total number of employees and T be the total number of students. We have three equations: B + G = T, 0.2B + 0.4G = (0.6 * E), and 0.35T = 0.35(B + G). Solving these equations gives us (0.7B + 0.6G) / (B + G) = 0.35E/T. Since we don't know the exact values of B, G and E, we can't find a specific percentage for employees who went to the outing.
