The human body typically maintains its internal temperature at around 98.6°F (37°C). Humans can survive in temperatures as low as -20°F (-29°C) for short periods, but prolonged exposure to temperatures below -4°F (-20°C) is usually fatal. Conversely, humans can withstand high temperatures up to around 108°F (42°C), but heatstroke can occur at higher temperatures.
