Explain how are ecological interactions classified?

Explain how are ecological interactions classified?..

Answer / Dhawan Rai

Ecological interactions can be classified into four main categories: competition, predation, mutualism, and parasitism. Competition occurs when two or more species use the same limited resources, leading to a reduction in population growth rates. Predation involves one organism consuming another, reducing the prey population. Mutualism is a symbiotic relationship between two species where both benefit from the association, like pollination by bees. Parasitism is a negative symbiotic relationship where one organism benefits at the expense of another, such as ticks feeding on mammals.
