How do you check wheather the NIC card is properly
installed or not in Win XP?

Go to Control Panel -> System - >HArdware -> Devide manager
- > check if Network adapter shows any sign (Like question
mark) -> if not then tour NIC is properly installed.

START-> RUN-> TYPE 127.0.0.1-> ENTER...
IF THE REPLY COMES THEN YOUR NIC IS WORKING AND IF THE REPLY DOESN'T COMES THEN YOUR NIC IS NOT WORKING...U HAVE TO CHANGE YOUR NIC.

Click on Settings-->Control Panel-->Device Manager-->
NIC-->Click on the +sign....checked wheather is there any
sign such as red X or a yellow exclamation...If yes right
click on it and uninstall it and restart the comp and NIc
would be installed automatically.
CMD--> routeprint....> check how many lines do u see under
metric if it is 6 or 7 that indicate that the Nic is
responding.....if it is less then 6 not responding try to
uninstll and reinstall or contact system vendor...
