How would you deal with a bug that no one wants to fix? Both
the SDE and his lead have said they won?t fix it?

If the bug reported is a minor bug but at the same time it
is not in acordance with the client requirements you must
convince the lead tester to talk to the dev lead to get it
fixed.
If it is a show stopper you need to mail the leads as well
as the manager informing the need to fix the same.
if the bug reported is a minor bug convince the Qa lead to
move it to a staus of will be fixed later rather than
won't fix.
If the bug reported is not reproducible by you then you
have to close the bug yourself.
If the bug won't be fixed ask the dev to give valid reasons
on why it will not be fixed. If you and your lead are
convinced with the reason and if time is a crunch help the
lead arrive at a good decision.

Gone through answers found nothing which can convince me...
If I am testing something and I encountered such a scenario
even with a defect of medium sev I will do do 2 things :
1. Escalate to everyone (as people are not taking
responsibilities which they should be)
2. Delay sign off (as This is my responsibility to ensure
quality of product and I shouldn't be compromising)

First, we will understand the Severity of the Bug on the
Application by discussing with TL and PL.
If the Severity of the Bug on the Application is very low
viz Cosmetics....We would leave it...
On the Contrary if the Bug has Severe effect on the
Application viz preventing the further use of the
Application, Then We as a Testing Members and Test Lead
will be discussing with PL, So that the Bug get's Fixed

If there is a bug which is unfixed then you should mail your
Test Lead in keeping Cc to Development lead and Your PL/PM.
Saying that this bug needs to be fixed and its in pending task.
First speak to developer what is stopping him to fix this
bug and mail the same response to everyone. Then may be if
there is a bug which cannot be fixed because of Framework
related issues or with genuine reason let your TL speak to
Client or PL and if they are convinced then close it and be
careful keep these mail as a written document.
Else if the Client is very particular dont close the bug and
Mail to PM and CC to TL stating the reason why the developer
is not fixing it.
