The Maximum Parsimony (MP) problem aims at reconstructing a
phylogenetic tree from DNA sequences while minimizing the
number of genetic transformations. To solve this NP-
complete problem, heuristic methods have been developed,
often based on local search. In this paper, we focus on the
influence of the neighborhood relations

principle behind this is that it follows the principle of
lesser changes.It follows that in characters means in
sequences minimum number of changes are taken place in
evolution.It has many drawbacks like it could not count for
those changes which are very difficult
