What are the factors affection Respiration ?
Answer / guest
There are number of factors which effects respiration on one
or other way. These are as follows:-
(1) Oxygen:- Since respiration is an oxidation process, the
presence of oxygen is essential.
(2) Temperature:- The rate of respiration attains its
maximum value at 45oc and this rate falls down below this
temp. At 0C or 10oC, the rate of respiration is minimum bit
beyond 45oC the rate decreases as the protoplasm get injured.
(3) Light:- Light effects the rate of respiration indirectly
as in string sunlight respiration proceeds quickly in
contrast to dim-light.
(4) Vitality of cells:- In growing regions e.g. vegetative
buds, germinating seeds, floral buds, respiration rate is
high as compared to old regions
(5) Concentration of carbon dioxide:-If carbon dioxide is
followed to accumulate ,as a result of respiration then the
rate of respiration falls down and a stage will come when
there will be no more of respiratory process.
(6) Nutritive material:-Glucose, with the soluble
carbohydrate affects the rate of respiration.
(7) Presence of water:-Rate of respiration increase with the
supply of water because the protoplasm saturated with water
respire vigorously, than the protoplasm in a dry condition.
