What is balanced diet? Give the everyday diet of a normal man...

Answer / guest

To lead a normal healthy life, a person must have a diet
which contains all the vitamins in some proportion or the
other. Over-proportion of one to the exclusion of another
will lead to diseases of various kinds, which besides
medicines, can be cured only by replenishing the deficient
vitamins. Similarly the food should contain the nutritive
contents in a proportion suitable to the body mineral salts
should also be present in the food. A food which fulfils all
these conditions is termed as balanced diet.
The amount of food required by a
person varies with his age, height, weight, occupation and
activity. A labourer who works on a construction site or a
farmer working in the fields require more fuel food than a
clerk at his desk. A vegetarian diet should consist of wheat
chapatis, rich, green vegetables, pulses, gram, ghee or
butter, fruit, milk, curd. A non-vegetarian diet will
consist of meats of different kinds, bread, butter,
potatoes, coffee, milk, vegetables, rice and fresh fruit.
