The average heart beat rate is 72 beats per minute, but it
can vary with the age and health scenario of a person. Like
a new born baby or an infant can have a heart beat rate
upto 120 beats per minute. A person suffering from
hypertension and High BP may also have the heart beat upto
85-90 beats per minute. An athlete after a work out may
also have 80-85 beats per minute.
Heart beats rate can be lower but generally it is
considered as an ailment. As if heart beat goes down to 65
beats per minute, the person starts feeling suffocation and
unconciousness. So lower hearbeat rate is an ailment.
But as per a general view of a cardiologist the average
rate of heart beat is 72 beats per minute
