There are 5 boxes in a cargo. The weight of the 1st box is 200 KG, the weight of the 2nd box is 20% higher than the third box, whose weight is 25% higher than the 1st box weight. The 4th box which weighs 350 KG is 30% lighter than the 5th box. Find the difference in average weight of the 4 heaviest boxes and the four lightest boxes.

There are 5 boxes in a cargo. The weight of the 1st box is 200 KG, the weight of the 2nd box is 20% ..

First, let's find the weights of the boxes. Let's call the weight of the first box W1 (200 kg). The third box has a weight that is 75% of the first box's weight (200 * 0.75 = 150 kg), and the second box has a weight that is 120% of the third box's weight (150 * 1.2 = 180 kg). The fifth box weighs 350 kg, so the fourth box (which is 30% lighter) weighs 350 * 0.7 = 245 kg. Now let L represent the weight of the lightest three boxes and H represent the weight of the heaviest two boxes. We know that L = W1 + 180 + 150, H = 350 + 245. To find the average weights, we need to divide the total weight by 5: (L + H) / 5. The difference between the averages is (H / 5 - L / 5). Calculating this gives us a difference of approximately 7.8 kg.
