Measure the length and the width.if you multiply the two measurements'this will give you the total square footage of the room.
example:
length: 12 feet
width: 10 feet
length x width = 120 square feet

First of all mark one corner of the room as origion than from that origion suppose lenge=x & breadth=y of the surface again from the origin mark height=z perpendicular to the surface
Hence x,y&z are the required dimensions of the room
