Give an account of free style 293 cells ?
Answer / Raj Kumar Srivastava
FreeStyle 293-F cells are a variant of human embryonic kidney (HEK) 293 cells that have been engineered to be more robust and flexible for large-scale production of recombinant proteins in suspension culture. These cells have adapted to grow in serum-free medium with glucose, amino acids, vitamins, and other nutrients, which allows for easier scaling up of protein production without the need for serum or animal-derived components. FreeStyle 293-F cells can also be transfected easily using various methods such as calcium phosphate precipitation, electroporation, and viral vectors.
