Answer / Gyan Singh

Employers have the right to deduct Provident Fund (PF) contributions and administrative charges from employee salaries as per the Employees' Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952. However, they are required to deposit these amounts to the PF account of the employee within the stipulated time frame and without any deductions. If an employer fails to do so, you can file a complaint with the EPFO (Employees' Provident Fund Organization) or approach a labor court under sections 56, 58, or 142 of the Employees' Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952.
