Describe the lifecycle of mycoplasms ?
Answer / Satendra Pal Singh
Mycoplasma species have no cell wall and are therefore pleomorphic, with irregular shapes. They replicate by binary fission and can adhere to host cells. The life cycle varies among different species but generally includes attachment to host cells, penetration into the host cytoplasm, and replication within a vacuole. Mycoplasmas may also form intracellular cysts for survival during stress or antibiotic treatment.
